Lujan Grisham's Schedule for Inauguration and Women's March on Washington
WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Michelle Lujan Grisham, the chairwoman of the Congressional Caucus, will host a news conference on Friday in connection with the inaugural ceremonies. Members of the Caucus will draw a contrast between incoming President Trump’s anti-immigration policies and those of past Presidents and prominent Republicans.
In addition to attending the inauguration and hosting Friday’s news conference, Rep. Lujan Grisham will participate in the Women’s March on Washington on Saturday. The Congresswoman will host a reception after the march for New Mexicans who travel to Washington to join the march.
“I have the utmost respect for my colleagues who have chosen not attend the presidential inauguration,” Rep. Lujan Grisham said. “However, I will participate in the inauguration while respectfully, but forcefully denouncing President-Elect Trump’s shameful behavior,” Rep. Lujan Grisham said. “I have spoken out against some of his Cabinet nominees, and I have asked for investigations of Russia’s efforts to manipulate our election. We must actively guard against the abuse of power and work together to protect our democracy.”
