Lujan Grisham Responds to Threat Against Jewish Community Center

ALBUQUERQUE – Congresswoman Michelle Lujan Grisham released the following statement today in response to dozens of bomb threats directed toward Jewish community centers around the country, including a center in Albuquerque.
 
“These cowardly threats have no place in our society,” Rep. Lujan Grisham said. “It troubles me that so many people are emboldened by the current political climate to target their fellow Americans with hate speech and threats of violence based on their own prejudices and ignorance.
 
“I stand with New Mexico’s Jewish community in denouncing today’s threats. Likewise, I stand with Muslims in New Mexico and all minorities who are anxious about the President’s anti-immigrant and anti-refugee executive orders.
 
“We are better than this. New Mexico is inclusive and welcoming of all people, and I will do everything possible to fight against hateful rhetoric and actions that don’t represent our values.”
