Lujan Grisham Releases Statement on Oregon Shooting

ALBUQUERQUE – Congresswoman Michelle Lujan Grisham released the following statement today in response to the tragedy at Umpqua Community College in Oregon.

“Like many Americans, I am heartbroken over the senseless loss of life in Oregon. I am also experiencing a range of emotions – from anger to frustration – as I contemplate why the public and its elected leaders allow this to happen again and again without even trying to implement common-sense gun laws. I feel strongly about the need for these reforms. Yet, we can’t even get a vote in Congress on any legislation to strengthen gun laws. I also realize my constituents are frustrated by this lack of action in Congress. I call on them to work with me to take on the gun lobby and anyone who stands in the way of common-sense gun legislation.”
