Lujan Grisham Praises Decision to House Aircraft at Kirtland

Congresswoman Michelle Lujan Grisham was informed by the Air Force today that four CV-22 Ospreys, which are used as special operations aircraft, will be temporarily housed at Kirtland Air Force Base until 2017. The aircraft, along with three others to be housed at Cannon Air Force Base, will eventually be moved to serve the U.S. Pacific Command.

Kirtland currently maintains eight CV-22 Ospreys.

“I welcome any additional use of Kirtland Air Force Base by our military,” Rep. Lujan Grisham said. “The team at Kirtland has a proven history with the CV-22 Osprey and its special operations missions. I know that the Air Force is familiar with the value of the base to the military and its integral role in preserving our national security.”
